It’s a hard day when a man wakes up to discover that his children are grown and almost ready to leave home. Even harder for a man is when he discovers that the factory that he “married” 20 years ago is closing and could care less about his future. Men are masters at making plans, setting goals, or accomplishing tasks. Men are also very lonely, especially in a crowd. Men are also quick to admit in the senior years that too much time was spent on grinding out a lifestyle rather than spending time with family and friends.
God’s picture is different. He doesn’t tell us WHAT to do. He tells us that WHATEVER we do… give it to Him. God will set our agenda and in doing so, will give us perspective on what’s real and what’s bogus.
Who are you neglecting because of your plans or goals?
Find one person you can trust who will tell you what they have witnessed is important to you.
PRAY: God, you are the chief architect of life. Show me where I’ve taken the plans and modified them to fit my selfish goals. Give me the courage to let go so you can take me where I need to be. Amen.
