To Live Bold means you are willing to go above words and venture into action. I was remembering my first visit to San Antonio, Texas and my walk through the Alamo. Seeing the small walls and rather spartan complex in person, compelled me to redefine my concept of “courage”. After hearing so much about the legend of the Alamo in school and in folk lore, it was inspiring to actually stand on the ground that was defended until death.
The story of the Alamo is intriguing in itself, but there is a sub story that unfolded in the midst of the chaos that really drew my attention. As the story goes, at one point when the Mexican Army attack was imminent and it was pretty clear that staying and defending the Alamo meant certain death… the commanding officer needed to quickly discern who was with him and who was ready to turn tail and run. In a moment of sheer determination, the commander drew out his sword and scratched a line in the sandy soil. He then asked the question we are all so familiar with, “If you are with me… dare to step across this line, if you want to run home… stand where you are”.
A band of men, committed to the cause… stepped over the line and gave their lives to protect their families, their land, and their honor. They each knew deep down that crossing the line, meant doing something more than talking about it. It meant action.
In the fight for goodness, hope, faith, and values, a time has come to draw a line in the sand. We are quick to anger when someone challenges our morals and our values… but are we willing to cross the line?
- Are we willing to take action?
- Who among you are willing to put down your own pursuits to make a difference in the lives around you?
- How long will you be silent and let the filth consume you and your family?
- Are you so self-concerned that your only effort is to protect your own turf and leave the rest up to someone else?
Not today… not you.
Live Bold has drawn a line in the sand. We are willing to suffer the attacks of evil in order to stand up for God. We may fall, but we will stand again. Who among you will cross the line? Who is willing to stand up to the evil of the day? Who among you are willing to dig in your heels to stay in and fight?
How are you going to do that? What action are you willing to take? Where can you plug in to begin?
Get your gear, get your brothers, and let’s not sit on our hands watching the world pilfer our children, wives, families, and faith.
You can respond by sending out this cry to every brother you know. Have them meet us here at Live Bold, and begin circling the wagons. I’m not talking about a “cause” with a cute ribbon. I’m talking about actually doing what Jesus Christ taught us to do… transform lives and live according to God’s purpose.
The line is drawn. You can join the effort, or you can go back to your easy chair.
Live Bold is poised to rally and spearhead an effort in your community to organize men of faith to stand up and shut down the stupidity that threatens to take over our homes. Start your ACTS! Chapter right now with a few buddies. Contact us here at the magazine for a quick start-up. We’ll be your resource.
Now…Cross the Line. Make a difference. Take a stand.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place
