NOW! Cross the Line.
A few months ago I made my first visit to San Antonio, and in that trip made my way to the Alamo. I was expecting something totally different, but was moved by the story and the spirit that the small walls and rather spartan complex had to offer.
The story of the Alamo is intriguing in itself, but there is a sub story that really drew my attention. As the story goes, at one point when the Mexican attack was imminent and it was pretty clear that staying and defending the Alamo meant certain death… the commanding officer needed to quickly discern who was with him and who was ready to turn tail and run. In a moment of sheer determination, the commander drew out his sword and scratched a line in the sandy soil. He then asked the question we are all so familiar with, “If you are with me… step across this line, if you want to run home… stand where you are”.
Have you ever told someone that if they crossed your line, you were going to give them the business end of your fist? I know I’ve said it a time or two. There’s something that stirs the grit in your gut and sets your jaw to “fight” when someone crosses your line. So where is your line? And at what point are you willing to stand against the onslaught and fight?
In the fight for goodness, hope, faith, and values, a time has come to draw a line in the sand. Rather than daring anyone to cross the line… I am asking, who will cross the line to fight? Who among you are willing to put down your selfish pursuits to make a difference in the lives around you? How long will you be silent and let the filth consume you and your family? Are you so self-concerned that your only effort is to protect your own turf and leave the rest up to someone else? Not today… not you.
I am drawing that line in the sand. I am willing to suffer the attacks of evil to stand up for God. I may fall, but I will stand again. Who among you will cross the line? Who is willing to stand up to the evil of the day? Who among you are willing to dig in your heels to stay in and fight?
Get your gear, get your brothers, and let’s not sit on our hands watching the world pilfer our children, wives, families, and faith.
You can respond by sending out this cry to every brother you know. Have them meet us here at Live Bold, and begin circling the wagons. I’m not talking about a “cause” with a cute ribbon. I’m talking about actually doing what Jesus Christ taught us to do… transform lives and live according to God’s purpose.
The line is drawn. You can join the effort, or you can go back to your easy chair.
I need men to rally and spearhead an effort in your community to organize men of faith to stand up and shut down the stupidity that threatens to take over our homes.
Now! Cross the Line.
Peace,
Greg
