We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. – Hebrews 2:1 (NIV)
Each day, there are thousands of messages attempting to capture your attention. Commercials on television, ads on the internet, billboards, logos and slogans on your coffee cup, or dare we admit… a daily devotional from some guy begging you to Live Bold.
Of all the messages encountered daily, you decide which messages will receive your attention and which will not. You decide which messages to remember and which to forget. You are in charge of the actions and pursuits to obtain the information presented to you daily. So who or what is getting your attention?
In the midst of the noise of life, there is a simple consistent message of hope. The voice of God speaking into your life, offering a compelling message with an eternal hope is ever present… will you hear it today? Will you remember God’s message today?
For those who don’t know the steady, consistent, and perpetual truth of God – the onslaught of messages can sway them like a ship tossed on the sea. However, the man who has heard the truth and embedded it into his life, will not drift away from it as long as he remembers it.
You must pay attention to God’s Word through Christ each day. You must adhere to the principles and promises. Forgetting what you have heard from God through Christ will set you adrift on a sea of messages ready to drown you in confusion. Evil’s hope is to distract you away from the truth. God’s truth is your anchor.
Either listen to God each day or listen to the world. Not both. Heads up…If you can’t hear God’s voice, then you are listening to the wrong messages.

PRAY: God, help me cut through the noise of life so your word is consistent in my ears. Give me presence of mind to block out those things trying to sway me away from you. Amen.
